River Quality Monitoring
 Several members of the NCC along with volunteers in the community are participating in a water quality testing program that includes all of the towns in the Lamprey River watershed area. The Lamprey River Watershed Association (LRWA) was formed to extend the protection of the Lamprey River. In Nottingham, two sites on the North River and one site on the Little River will be sampled each weekend from June 4 to September 24. Samplers were trained at a workshop in May. Data are submitted to the Volunteer River Assessment Program (VRAP), a division of the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (DES). (www.des.state.nh.us/wmb/Env-Ws1700.pdf)
April 24, 2008 - The Lamprey River Watershed Association (LRWA) is looking for Nottingham volunteers for water sampling this summer. Sampling will begin in mid-May and continue through September. Three sites, two on the North River and one on the Little River, have been sampled the last several years. Usually a team of two samplers goes out on a Saturday morning and it takes about three hours to complete the data gathering. Data is submitted to the Volunteer River Assessment Program (VRAP), a database at the NH Department of Environmental Services established in 1998 to establish watershed stewards through the monitoring of river and stream water quality and ecology.
