In 2002, the NCC submitted a grant proposal to the New Hampshire State Conservation Committee that is responsible for the disbursement of monies funded through the sale of Moose license plates for community projects that would have conservation merit. The majority of the grant money was used to contract for 20 river crossing signs. Boy Scout Troop #167 provided “manpower” for securing the signs at the crossings. Most of the signs have survived last winter’s snowplows and vandalism and a sum has been budgeted for sign maintenance and/ or replacement.
