Be a Volunteer for the River Assessment Program: The Lamprey River Watershed Association (LRWA) is a division of the state-coordinated Volunteer River Assessment Program (VRAP). Nottingham has participated by testing the North and Little Rivers for several summers and the Conservation Commission is recruiting additional volunteers to help this summer. Typically a (rotating) team of two will test three sites every other weekend for several water quality
conditions such as dissolved oxygen and turbidity. Data is submitted to the state where it is recorded, analyzed, and filed for summary reports.
If you would like to be a river quality tester for Nottingham please contact Dawn Genes at dawn.genes@lrwa-nh.org and Jen Drociak at jen.drociak@des.nh.gov to register for a training session. The closest training session will be held at the Lee Public Safety Center, next Wednesday evening (May 19) at 6:30 to
8:30. Other Nottingham volunteers will be attending this session. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact any Conservation Commission member.
