Each winter in January and February the Recreation Department offers a multi-week ski and snowboard program on Tuesday evenings at Gunstock. Open to all ages (children in 4th grade and younger must be accompanied on the trips by an adult), the program features an hour-long lesson each week and then free time on the slopes. Lessons are tailored to each child's ability, ranging from those who have never been on snow before to those who are skiing black diamond slopes.
Each Tuesday, those in the program will be picked up from the elementary school at 2:30 by the ski program bus, which will take them to Gunstock. Lessons will be from 4:30-5:50, followed by dinner and then more time on the slopes. We will arrive back at the Community Center by 9 pm.
Lift tickets, lessons, and transportation to and from Gunstock are included in the price of the program (to be determined in October). Rentals are available for an additional charge. Each participant needs to bring dinner/snacks or money to purchase food at Gunstock's cafeteria.
Sign-ups for the ski program are in October each year; waivers and additional information will be available at that time. We can't wait to get out on the slopes!
