Ordinance #89-001 - Regulations of Alcohol Usage
TOWN OF NOTTINGHAM
REGULATION OF ALCOHOL USAGE
ON PUBLIC HIGHWAYS, SIDEWALKS, AND COMMONS
(INCLUDING THE TOWN BEACH)

Adopted by Town Meeting March 18, 1989.
Revised 12 December 1994

ALCOHOL PROHIBITED.

No person shall consume any liquor or beverage as defined by RSA 175:1, or possess any open container thereof, while on any vehicle upon a public highway or while upon any public highway, sidewalk or common (including the Town Beach) while in the limits of the Town of Nottingham.

PENALTIES.

Any violation of the aforementioned ordinance shall be punishable by a fine of $100.00 for the first offense, by a fine of $200.00 for the second offense, and by a fine of $300.00 for the third offense.  An offense subsequent to a third offense may be punishable in the discretion of the Judge by a fine in an amount not less than $300.00 but not more than $1000.00.

EFFECTIVE DATE.

This ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon passage by the majority vote of the Selectmen and shall remain in effect until such time as same is either repealed, modified, or amended by vote of a majority of the Selectmen of Nottingham.
