SELECTMEN’S REGULATION AND ESTABLISHMENT
OF SPEED LIMITS AND SPEED ZONES
WITHIN THE TOWN OF NOTTINGHAM
By virtue of the Authority vested in the Board of Selectmen by the virtue of RSA 41:11 and the 47:17 VII, VIII and XVIII, as referred to in RSA 41:11, we the Selectmen of the Town of Nottingham enact the establishment of speed limits and speed zones within the town.
WHEREAS, the safety of children and pedestrian traffic on residential roadways is impacted by established speed limits, and
WHEREAS, the Nottingham Board of Selectmen has evaluated and identified potential traffic hazards created by the characteristics of residential roadways
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town of Nottingham through the Board of Selectmen ordains that:
Any speed in excess of posted 25 mph on all Class V roadways in Nottingham shall be prima facie evidence that the speed is not reasonable or prudent and that it is unlawful:
PENALTIES: Any violation of the aforementioned ordinance speed limits shall be punishable by fines based RSA 502-A:19-b.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Selectmen of the Town of Nottingham this 13th day of July, 1998 by 3 affirmative votes and 0 negative votes.
