The following is a list of criteria for having a Veteran’s name placed on the Nottingham Veteran’s Memorial at the Blaisdell Memorial Library:
• The Veteran must have been a resident of Nottingham at the time of entrance into the armed forces.
• Served a minimum of ninety (90) days on active duty.
• Has been Honorably separated or discharged from service.
• All branches of servicemen and servicewomen are eligible.
• The Veteran or their family must provide the town with a copy of his or her service record. (DD214 is preferred)
• Requests for placement of names must be made in writing to the Selectmen’s office and approved by the Board of Selectmen after meeting the criteria.
• Arrangements for the engraving will be made by the Selectmen’s office.
• Every effort will be made to honor requests in a timely fashion but will be subject to scheduling and budget factors. Also, in an effort to keep costs down, any approved additions will be done only once a year.
