About Nottingham
Nottingham is located in the southeast portion of the state within 30 minutes of Portsmouth or Concord. The center of town is located on Route 152 at the intersection with Route 156. Nottingham is rich in history and, despite modern growth, maintains a small town atmosphere. The Nottingham formal charter was issued on May 10, 1722, and by May of 1723, a total of 132 persons had signed on as “proprietors” and had the right to draw “rights” or lots of land.
Nottingham is approximately 46.5 square miles of land area and 1.9 square miles of inland water area.
Population was 5,229 at the 2020 census, up from 4,785 at the 2010 census.
