ABSENTEE BALLOTS 

 
Absentee ballots are available from the Town Clerk 30 days before an election OR as soon as printed ballots are received. 
 
You may request an Absentee Ballot Application using any of the following methods: 
 
1. IN PERSON during regular Town Clerk Office Hours as well as 3:00 - 5:00 PM the day before an election . 
 
2. IN WRITING to the Town Clerk PO Box 114 Nottingham NH 03290. Use either the local election form or state election form as neededor a handwritten request. Include your Name, Voting Address AND Mailing Address, and your signature.
 
3. By EMAIL attach a copy of a signed request to an email.  Use either the local election form or state election form as needed, or a handwritten request.  Include your Name, Voting Address AND Mailing Address, and your signature. If emailing, please electronically sign your request.   Typed signatures are not allowed.  
 
4. BY FAX to the Town Clerk at (603) 679-1013.  Use either the local election form or state election form as needed, or a handwritten request. Include your Name, Voting Address AND Mailing Address, and your signature. 
 
Submit Completed Absentee Ballots: 
 

IN PERSON to the Town Clerk during normal business hours as well as between 3-5 pm the day before an election, or 

RECEIVED BY MAIL no later than 5:00 pm on Election Day.

IN PERSON ON ELECTION DAY.  An Absentee Ballot Return Form will be required to be completed by a qualified person (delivery agent) who is returning an Absentee Ballot for a different person voting absentee.  The delivery agent will be required to show a Government issued Photo ID.

NOTE:  Voters will need to reapply for each election. 

PUBLIC HEALTH CONSIDERATIONS AND ABSENTEE VOTING

A person can register and vote by absentee if, based on their own health circumstances, medical authorities advise them to avoid going out in public.  This applies to:

  1. voters with symptoms of a communicable disease or illness;
  2. voters who, due to their own health circumstances, limit public exposure in their day-to-day life as a preventative measure.

A person must meet the following to register and vote in New Hampshire:
  • 18 years of age or older on election day:
  • A United States citizen, and
  • Domiciled in the town or ward where the person seeks to vote
