The Nottingham Highway Department maintains over 56 miles of town-owned roads. In addition to road surface maintenance, they plow and sand, clear roadside brush, and perform major repairs and reconstruction of a portion of roads each summer. They maintain a fleet of four dump truck/plows, front-end loader, grader, and utility pickup truck. There are three year-round employees and an additional six seasonal plow drivers. The town owns a gravel pit on Smoke Street, and a Highway garage on Flutter Street.
In addition to town-owned roads, the town has designated approximately 10 miles of private roads as Emergency Lanes, and keeps these roadways clear and safe for emergency vehicle traffic.
