300th Bonfire January 2022

Preparations are well underway for the Nottingham Community Bonfire on Saturday night, January 13, 2024, at the Town Sand Pit on Smoke Street. The fire will be lit by members of the Nottingham Fire Department at 5 PM. The Nottingham Highway Department has not only already prepared the “pit” but also collected and brought into it trees and other burnable materials. Meanwhile, members of the Nottingham Select Board, Steve Welch, Matt Shirland, John Morin, Ben Bartlett, and Tim Dabrieo have been contributing wood and pallets. Thank you! The Nottingham Fire & Rescue and Police Departments will oversee the safety concerns and issues. Thank you! The Nottingham Parks & Recreation Department will provide hot chocolate at the event. Thank you! See you there and then. What a great way to start 2024!!

The newly formed Celebrate Nottingham Committee (CNC) is pleased to announce that there will be a Nottingham Community Bonfire on Saturday January 13, 2024 at 5pm at the Town Sand Pit on Smoke Street. This event was inspired by the hugely successful Community Bonfire held on January 8, 2022, the kickoff to Nottingham’s celebration of its 300th Anniversary. Many of those familiar faces are part of the Celebrate Nottingham Committee.

The Nottingham Highway Department has been preparing the “pit” and will ensure the ‘gate”  is open that night.

The Nottingham Fire & Rescue Department will light the fire and oversee the safety concerns. Members of the Nottingham Select Board will provide wood to burn.

Members of the Nottingham Recreation Department will serve hot chocolate.

Come and join your Nottingham neighbors at the community bonfire!
