Nottingham's StoryWalk
Storywalk

StoryWalk collaboration with Blaisdell Memorial Library

During the Fall of 2022 Blaisdell Memorial Library collaborated with Nottingham Parks and Recreation and came up with a new project idea for the trails of Nottingham! Shortly thereafter we were able to partner up with Owen Silsby-Belknap, a local member of Scout Troop 167 seeking his Eagle Scout rank. Using the trail systems of Nottingham Parks and Recreation, designs and examples provided by Blaisdell Library, and the craftsmanship of Owen and Scout Troop 167, we were able to design, create, and install a StoryWalk® right here in Nottingham! A StoryWalk®, originally created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with Kellogg-Hubbard Library, is a creative and wonderful way for families to enjoy the great outdoors and reading all at once. Our StoryWalk® fixtures start and finish directly behind the bandstand located at the Nottingham Parks and Recreation ballfields and will feature first the picture book “And Then Comes Summer” by Tom Brenner. On Saturday, October 1 we will change to a surprise story as part of the Nottingham Tricentennial celebration! We hope to see you on the trails soon!
