Vials of Life
Nottingham Fire Rescue recommends residents take part in the FREE “Vial of Life” program to speak for you and your medical information when you are unable to speak for yourself.
The “Vial of Life” program is designed to alert and inform EMS providers with your needed medical information (history, allergies, current medications, etc.) and contact information, saving valuable time during a critical illness or accident in your home.
Anyone can benefit from this program, especially those with a history of heart conditions, stroke, seizures, chronic illness, or respiratory conditions. Additionally, those who have known allergic reactions to medications or who have any other life threatening allergies can benefit from this program.
The kit contains:
-a decal that is attached to your refrigerator door alerting EMS of the “Vial of Life” contained inside.
-health history forms that are filled out to include pertinent medical information
-a plastic medicine bottle with a “Vial of Life” decal, that contains the health history forms. This vial is then kept in your refrigerator door so it is easily located by EMS personnel in the event of a critical illness or injury.
“Vials of Life” kits can be picked up at the Nottingham Fire Department during regular business hours. If you require assistance completing the forms or have questions, please call the Fire Department at (603) 679-5666.
All expenses of the “Vial of Life” kits have been paid for by the Nottingham Fire Rescue Association and are provided to Nottingham residents FREE of charge.
