Job Description

Seasonal Town Beach Attendant- Age 18+
$18/hr., Thursday-Sunday, Memorial Day-Labor Day
Town Beach Hours TBD

Job Summary
Supports overall operation of the town beach by greeting the public, providing information, monitoring the parking lot and beach, checking for valid town facility permits on vehicles, trash pick up and removal; all other related work as required.

Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the Recreation Director and Assistant Director.
 

Job Environment
Employee may be subject to extreme weather conditions including sun, wind and rain, as well as insects. A Town of Nottingham facility decal will be provided. Work is required during operational hours, except on days when rain or storms are expected for the majority of the day. In such cases, the beach will remain closed per the direction of the Parks and Recreation Department.
 

Essential Functions
•Welcome and assist the public by providing information as needed.
•Verify that vehicles have the proper facility permit displayed and ensure attendees are Nottingham Residents.
•Help enforce town beach rules and regulations.
•Must be familiar with all the emergency procedures established by the town of Nottingham.
•Make sure the beach and parking lot are clean and free of trash.
•Responsible for opening and securing the gate at designated times.
 

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
First Aid and CPR certifications preferred
 

Necessary Knowledge, Ability, and Skill
•Strong communication skills for interacting effectively with the public.
•Ability to follow established procedures and enforce regulations consistently.
•General understanding of site operations and protocols.
•Ability to stay calm under pressure and communicate swiftly to assist in emergency situations.
•Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
•Skilled in handling difficult or dissatisfied customers professionally.
•Must maintain a positive and approachable attitude.
 

Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand for long periods of time on various surfaces, including uneven terrain like beach sand.
